The return of whitewalls! Oh, wait...
At least the problem could easily be remedied.

Wait, how did I not know these were M-system multipiece wheels too?

Even the base wheel underneath looks OK without any of the covers. Not finished and fancy, but kind of a rough, industrial look. But I tend to like any black wheel with a silver rim.

The left one is the
forged
wheel that came with the earlier
E34 M5s (9"
in the rear and 8" in the front)
and the right one is the later cast wheel model
(all wheels 8"). T
he small rib near the bolt holes is the key to identify them.
Mine are
missing the turbofans but I would like to remedy this proble
m. They are annoyingly expensive. I do have have one throwing star but I
don’t like their look
at all.

WHY DID I NEVER KNOW THIS ABOUT THROWING STARS?!?!?!

I like the fans but I gotta say my fave look for the E34 was in an episode of Mythbusters when they had an emerald green one with 8-S eri es wheels.

I kept telling myself that it was a worthless 530i with worn-out cylinders and no warranty otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to tolerate them destroying an E34.
Same thing goes for when they were destroying NA Miatas. When I saw that they were all automatics I wasn’t as disappointed.

I loved the look of throwing stars, but the price was too much. Same thing with the three-piece BBS wheels. I ended up with a set of Type 32s from an E39 and I liked them despite them not being hub-centric and a bitch to clean.

Those wheels go for $ 1k/set and that car was probably junked after filming. It makes me sad. It probably came with those wheels on it and the team had no clue what they had.

Looks so good. Ugh I really need to get my E34 back on the road. All the parts finally came in last week. Today I had a snapchat memory of me revving the shit out of the V8 and I really miss that exhaust note. My Z3 Coupe with the inline six is loud compared to most cars, but if I drive the E34 for a few days it feels super silent and luxurious relatively haha

When I got mine I really wanted turbofans but jesus christ are they expensive. I could get a set of the Alpinas cheaper its crazy. Im probably getting some AC Schnitzer new replicas though and then gonna make the style 5s into my winter set

Thats my color and the hood looks dent free, I coulda used that! My car had 60k miles when I bought it and the only issues cosmetically were two dings on the hood and some of the plastic trim on the sides had broken clips
